Eden in love
Oil on canvas 80cmx60cm, 100cmx70cm, 50cmx40cm
During an iconographic research process, I encountered a photograph of an eighteenth-century engraving by John Hall depicting Venus and Adonis in a moment of harmonious dialogue.
I was particularly struck by the tenderness and emotional resonance expressed in the interaction between their faces.
Starting from this image, my intention was not to reproduce the original scene but to use it as an perceptual and emotional reference. Through layers of colors and transparency, the figures gradually merge with the surrounding space, dissolving the boundary between subject and environment.
In Eden in love, the two figures interact with an imaginative natural landscape that envelops them.
In Green vibes, the two bodies appeared subtly within the texture of the environment blending with surrounding space and creating a sense of visual unity.
In Inside the image, the face becomes part of the background, while shades of green permeate the entire composition.
Pascifera's Lament
Oil on canvas 70cmx100cm
This work is based on a reflection on the unpredictability of human behavior, which is increasingly disrespectful toward the animal world.
I was reminded of the legends of Sardinian tradition and their deep connection with the land and Mother Nature.
The character of Su Pascifera embodies the protective spirit of the forest, acting in harmony with the animal world that inhabits it.
However, in my painting, only her sorrow is evident, as her protection was not enough to save the boar from human cruelty.
The young man watches over it, and the fox, stunned, observes from afar.
The Transparent Distance
Oil on canvas 70cmx100cm
The transparent distance is that which separates us while leaving us close. It is what stands between Narcissus and the deer, between the self and the other, between what we could be together and what we remain, alone.
